[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Using the print spooler

brian@VUSE.VANDERBILT.EDU (Brian Antao) (03/06/90)

I am trying to use a print spooler from a pc to access a Sun print server
that runs sunOS 4.0. The pc has been assigned a host
name and an Ip address, and these have been include in the /etc/hosts
and the /etc/hosts.lpd files on the print server. However running
lpr from the pc still returns "/usr/lib/lpd: Your host does not have line printer access".
Actually I am tring to use the lpr utility from cmu's pcip package,
But using the lpr utility under NCSA telnet also returns the
same error. (The other stuff telnet, ftp ... works fine)
Any suggestions Hints ?.
