[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] KA9Q TCP/IP problems with HAPN

Hi.

We have KA9Q NOS soft running fine using either a SLIP link or
external TNC. As we are familiar with C we were able to modify NOS
to suit our own (user-friendly) needs. We incorporated some useful
extensions such as split sreen aso. The version we are using is
900214 with local patches.

We 've got a problem getting the HAPN PC plug-in card working. The
card does a fine job using the hamilton progs so we assume it is wired
correctly....
When using NOS however, it reacts on some packets heard on the frequency
by generating a carrier without modulation during half a second, hereby
destroying the packets of the sender. (Because of the very low response
time of my tranceiver (YAESU FT-736R) it disturbs the others on
frequency). My own connects are not affected by my own carriers,
neither are those of the connected station.

So, sometimes a Tx interrupt is generated when packets from other
users are heard. We are searching for a bug in the source. Is there
something wrong with the reset in hapn_init ? It sends instead of
resetting. (As for as the 8273 datasheet tells us - the 8273 RESET is
never used in the tcpip hapn driver). Why isn't there a difference
between RTS and RST in hapn.h ?

Is someone having the same problem with the HAPN driver?
Suggestions are welcome!!!

Thanks & 73.
