Got a fun question for you all... Has anyone ever tried to concurrently run DECNET and TCP/IP on a PC with a DEPCA card? Anyone ever written a packet driver for the DEPCA card--or will that even work with DECNET? Any help is appreciated. If there's enough interest, I'll post a summary. Thanks! Sorry, there's no packet driver for a DEPCA card, but there's lots of
requests for one...

DEC provides a software interface sharing scheme called DLL with PCSA and DECNet/DOS. Our PC/TCP and Wollongong's WIN/PC support it (DLL came in an early version and a late version - I know we handle both, I don't know about WIN/PC), with the minor restriction that we can't handle 4bsd "trailer" packets if too many PCSA features are in use (DEC only provides 8 "portals", and they don't always leave us the 5 we need to handle trailers as well as normal IP and ARP). I don't know of any freeware packages which support DLL. DEC is apparently changing direction to support NDIS instead, but I don't know if/when you can get an NDIS driver for the DEPCA. If you can get one, look through the archives for recent messages on who supports NDIS. James B.
