[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] uudecode & uuencode for msdos

jackson@bdrc.bd.com (Gene Jackson) (06/30/90)

I am looking for a version of uudecode & uuencode that runs on msdos
machines. We need to be able to send binary files through SMTP to users
who do not have access to a unix host. I do not have ftp access on internet
so I need to receive through mail. Thanks for any help.

POLYTRON sells a set of tools and a shell that provides a
UNIX-like environment on he PC. It includes uuencode and
uudecode, which I have used successfully. The product I
purchased is called PolyShell. The address in the manual I have
is:

        POLYTRON Corporation
        1815 NW 169th Place
        Suite 2110
        Beaverton, OR 97006
        (503) 645-1150

POLYTRON has an extensive set of UNIX-like software development
tools for the PC. Does anyone know if the rumors about this
product not being available anymore are true?

POLYTRON Corporation is now known as Sage Software, Inc. It appears Sage
"acquired" POLYTRON (I know how that feels). Sage Software/POLYTRON can
be reached at:

         1700 NW 167th Place
         Beaverton, OR 97006
         (503) 645-1150
