From: Dave Ulrick <A01DGU1%NIUCS.BITNET@uicvm.uic.edu> Subject: FTP problem with binary files Here at NIU, we're trying to get some PCs running FTP Software's PC/TCP v2.04 to communicate with our Amdahl mainframe that's running IBM VM TCP/IP v1.2.2. We are using David Lippke's BTI native-mode driver to talk to a BTI ELC. When we try to FTP between the PC and the VM host, the PC hangs after a while. According to our PC expert, VM's TCP/IP is sending two "resets" to the PC side before the PC hangs. I don't recognize "BTI ELC". If this is an interface supported via a Packet Driver, I don't think we've tested the combination, which might have something to do with the problem. Which kernel are you using (ETHDRV)? Have you sent the LAN trace that indicated the resets to our support people? If so, whom have you been talking to? James B.
