[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] New SMTP / CCMAIL translation system available

acm@RELAY.PROTEON.COM (07/25/90)

Everyone,
I have put an updated version of my CCMAIL to/from SMTP translation system
in the public domain. It is version 2.26.

Briefly, it uses two pc's to receive/send email to/from CCMAIL within a pc
network (nominally Novell). One of these pc's is the machine that runs the
CCMAIL GATEWAY program. It provides reasonably seamless interchange of
email with PC and UNIX workstation users.

You can get the self-extracting ZIP file (SMTPGW.EXE) from Monk.Proteon.Com
(128.185.123.16) via anonymous FTP. You will find it in the pub/novell
directory.

All I ask is that if you do use it just let me know you are using it and
tell me of any problems you have bringing it up. It uses TurboC and you
need to customize it for your site and recompile. I have improved
documentation somewhat.

Thanks Chris. I new about this gateway, but didn't know that it was
still actively improved and "supported."
