[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] NCSA telnet and emacs

romeo@lindy.Stanford.EDU (Patrick Goebel) (07/29/90)

I am running NCSA Telnet 2.2D on an IBM PC using the Clarkson packet
driver and the WD8003W (10BaseT card).

When I telnet to my Sun (a 4/330) and run emacs, everything seems to
work EXCEPT that the key combination CTRL-SPACE does not "Mark set" as
it should but simply gives me a SPACE.

I am specifying vt100 emulation in config.tel and my terminal type is
set to vt100 on the Sun.

The CTRL-SPACE combo works fine when I dial into the Sun using Kermit
or log on via a direct terminal connection on a Wyse 185 running vt100
emulation.

Can anyone tell me how to recover the CTRL-SPACE/Mark set function
using NCSA telnet?

Thanks!
