[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] IBM TCP/IP for OS/2 vs. SUN 4.1 TCP

EAF@.Prime.COM (08/01/90)

IBM TCP-IP for OS/2 on IBM OS/2 1.2 EE will talk to:
      SUN OS 4.03
      PRIMOS TCP-IP
It will not talk to:
      SUN OS 4.1 TCP-IP
      EXL Unix 5.3.1 Rel 2.0 TCP-IP/S

Anyone know why?

Thanks in advance.

There are two different ports that different TALKs listen to (517 and 518).
Apparently, SUN 4.1 and EXL listen on port 517 (IBM uses 518).
