[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Clarkson NCSA Telnet

was@gdwb.oz.au (Warren Stokes) (08/03/90)

I have loaded the beta version of Clarkson's NCSA Telnet which
runs in conjunction with PC-NFS (CUTCP-NFS-B) which looks like
a terrific package - the ability to have macros assigned to *every*
key is great. However, using this program I don't get the telnet
connection completing - i.e. no login prompt. The in.telnetd process
starts on the host but no login process. Also the messages file for
CUTCP says that everything is ok. Domain name serving works fine.
RARP works fine. The keyboard map is found and processed. All keys
pressed are echoed on my screen and packets corresponding to keys being
pressed are sent to the host (and packets in response are sent back from
the host). My question is:

Has anyone else run this beta version with no problems?

If they have, I guess it must be a configuration problems somehow.
I am successfully running the A version with no problems so suspect my
configuration is ok.
