I'm sure that this stuff has been beaten to death in this news group. Sorry for asking again, but I don't have the necessary info. I'm interested in using TCP/IP software under windows 3.0. I'm currently on a Novell 386 LAN and windows is already usable to that environment. What I want to do, though is use the packet drivers to load up windows on my file server, and also be able to use the workstation to speak normal TCP/IP to rest of the world. Now, except for the windows part, I can do all of that. In fact it's easy. But now I've got windows, and I'm having a difficult time. What I'm interested in is two-fold. First of all running TCP/IP under windows and the packet drivers. I have used NOS, NCSA, PC/TCP and PCIP. If there is a way for any of these packages to work under windows, I could sure use some guidance. Second, when I load windows over the network using the packet drivers, I get the following message: VIPX: Device load failed. IPX is not installed or not the right version. Press any key to continue ... Since I'm running the BYU ipx for the packet drivers, and windows 3.0 expects to be run in a Novell 3.1 environment, it isn't surprising that I get this message. Even though windows complains, it works anyway! However, I don't want to bet my farm on this thing working, so is there an IPXPKT which is taylored for use under windows 3.0? As always, your abundant help is greatly appreciated. - Mark. P.S. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not reply to the account from which this was posted.
