I am in the process of bringing up a 10BaseT network in our new office space. I ordered WD8003 UTP cards (8-bit) but thanks to purchasing's bid process I was sent 3COM 3c503 UTP cards (8-bit). Is the WD8003 family better or worse than the 3c503 family? 1. Which is the faster card for TCP/IP? for Novell Netware? for Packet Driver? 2. Do either support promiscuous mode so I can run NETWATCH? The goal is to be able to run netware and tcp/ip using the packet driver (I am successfully doing this with a standard 3c503 on a Thinwire segment). Are there better (features/driver support) and/or faster cards out there for the IBM-AT ISA bus? Thanks in advance! Dan Holtzman Univ. of Pittsburgh dth@txs.pitt.edu
