Does anyone there in netland have a BBC micro? This machine is extremely popular in England, but here in the US it is too expensive to catch on. I am the proud owner of one, and I would be interested to get in touch with other BBC micro owners in order to exchange info and/or programs. Please reply by mail, as I do not read net.micro. (Please determine my path from the header - I know it is princeton!tilt!kyrimis , but it may require additional prefixes). Kriton Kyrimis

1200 bps modem for ~$50 (50 Br. pounds) is available for the BBC micro, in case anyone is interested. I personally have never been exposed to the micro or the modem, and have no ties to anyone producing either. David sde@mitre-bedford

Regarding the ~$50 British 1200 bps modem: Be warned that the use of split speed modems (1200/150, 1200/300) is much more common in Europe than here--that modem *might* be split speed and not a 1200/1200 type. Also note that the European 1200/1200 standard (V.22 as I recall) is not *quite* the same as 212 standard, primarily in the call setup/handshaking procedures. --Lauren--
