[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Windows3 & TCP/IP

pnr@ngs.fi (Pekka Nikander) (08/15/90)

Has anyone got FTP Software PC/TCP to work with Windows3 in 386-mode?
PC/TCP (as well as Interdrive) seems to work without any bigger
problems when running WIndows3 in real-mode. However, every time I
try to use Windows3 in 386-mode, the TCP/IP interface hangs. Only
cold boot helps.

I am using PC/TCP 2.04 with WD8003.

Any suggestions?

Pekka,

We have been able to use our applications successfully within Windows
3.0 in 386 mode by configuring the xxx.pif files properly for each
application. We have a sheet which describes how to do this. I will
have someone e-mail that sheet to you tomorrow.

There are some restrictions on our use in windows. The largest is
that you can only use one of our applications at a time. Our telnet
does provide for multiple connections, but you cannot run multiple
connections in separate windows.

After you receive the configuration information, if you are still
unable to run our applications within Windows properly, please feel
free to give us a call, or send mail to support@ftp.com and we will
try to help.

Sincerely,
