[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] 2 eth boards, NCSA+ka9q via desqview

tksjmi@sybil.cs.Buffalo.EDU (JoAnn Illuzzi) (08/31/90)

I have an IBM AT using desqview with lots of memory via a fully loaded
RAMpage. The machine has 2 3c501s, set at differnet interrupts,
 dma channels, and io addrs.

I want to run NCSA Telnet 2.2tn and ka9q ver 900214NOS together on this
machine via packet drivers. I am using ver 5.0 of the 3c501 packet
 driver.

I invoke one packet driver at 0x60, another at 0x63, before starting
up desqview. They both load ok. I have set NCSA Telnet's config.tel
 to use 0x60 via
	ioaddr=60
and configed ka9q to use 0x63 via
        attach packet 0x63 ec0 3 1500 [128.205.1.13]
 in my AUTOEXEC.NET.

My problem is that I cannot get NCSA and ka9q to run in separate
windows, each using a different packet driver. The first window opens
up fine and works, but the second window hangs solid, I have to
power off the machine. It doesn't matter if I start ka9q or ncsa
first, the first window works, the second window hangs.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be the problem?
 thanks
 JoAnn

You have to load the packet drivers with in the windows
you are running ncsa/ka9q.
