[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] PCNFS, 3C503 card

torda@igc.ethz.ch (Andrew Torda D31 5503) (09/02/90)

A 3Comm 3C503 card, olivetti M300 386SX clone, dos 4.01
The shared memory jumper has been set to DC000.

Using the clarkson packet drivers, NCSA telnet and the commercial
link/tcp package work fine. Now..
Install PC-NFS including the provided drivers and..

After doing a net start rdr my_pc *
the PC will respond to ping requests from workstations with the
correct IP address. This would suggest the drivers are in place
and happy.

If I now try telnet, it doesn't even time out, it just hangs the PC.
What does this all mean ?
pcnfsd is running on the specified server, a net name command on the
PC gives back sensible parameters. Trying nfsping or any of the other
services also causes the PC to hang, but this is probably not surprising
as they seem to operate at a relatively high level.

Please, any suggestions
