[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Using a PC as a Ethernet to SLIP router?

cyamamot@aludra.usc.edu (Cliff Yamamoto) (09/12/90)

Greetings!

Does anyone know of a software package (preferably PD) that allows me
to use my PC-XT/AT as a Ethernet to SLIP router? I'm currently using
FTP software's PC/TCP for my telnet and ftp sessions, but I'd like to
accomplish this remotely (say over a modem).

I know what SLIP is, but once I find the software to do the routing,
how do I run telnet and ftp over SLIP on my other (remote) machine?
I'd presume, like the 'ethdrv.exe' for packet drivers, there must be
some sort of 'slipdrv.exe' used as a kernel for the serial port.
Is this correct?

Any advice or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!
