Hello! I've been following the discussions in this group about implementations of NFS for DOS. We are switching over from 3Com 3+ to Unix as server for our DOS machines, and are trying to assemble an overview on what there is out there. Has anyone been keeping track? Even maybe a scoreboard? The questions which we need answered are the following: 1. How much memory does the TCP/NFS implementation require on the DOS side? 2. How good is the telnet implementation? 3. Is there a POP/SMTP client associated with the package? 4. Is there packetdriver or NDIS support? 5. What ethernet cards are supported directly? 6. Is there printer redirection support? Does it work with the lpr protocol? 7. Is there the possibility to use a PC as lpr print server? I realize that not all of these need to be contained in one neat package, and something good and solid in the public domain is not ruled out. If people reply via e-mail, and no one has done it already, I'll put together a scorecard and summary. Thanks in advance, and sorry to bring this up _again_ :-) Matthew Lewis Sys Adminm CICT/OOC Univ. of Amsterdam -- Matthew Lewis, University of Amsterdam Grote Bickersstraat 72 +31-20-52 51 220 1013 KS Amsterdam Internet: matthew@ooc.uva.nl The Netherlands UUCP: uunet!mcsun!hp4nl!uvabick!matthew
