Is it possible to have more than two 9600 baud SLIP lines running off a ka9q box consisting of: - 8 MHz IBM AT - wd8013 ethernet adapter - 16550 UART SLIP lines It seems to me that some sort of smart serial card is in order. Has anyone done this with any success? Where did you get the drivers? -- Fred Fierling fff@mplex.bc.ca Tel: 604 875-1461 Fax: 604 875-9029 Microplex Systems Ltd 265 East 1st Avenue Vancouver, BC V5T 1A7, Canada

If have more dumb serial ports which can be configured to use unique interrupt levels other than IRQ3 and IRQ4, you could just load the SLIP packet drivers a few more times, once for each of the ports. Some limiting factors are: the number of free IRQ levels, the number of free packet driver INT's, the amount of free CPU cycles, and the amount of free memory. ...Sam -- Internet: <skl@wimsey.bc.ca> UUCP: {van-bc,ubc-cs,uunet}!wimsey.bc.ca!skl
