[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] POP server for VMS

fks@FTP.COM (Frances Selkirk) (10/02/90)

Our mail is SMTP based. Sendmail provides the basic functions you need
to spool mail for a PC running PC/TCP. When we release Version 2.05,
in a couple of weeks, that version will have a POP2 client, a POP3
client, and PCMAIL. You will need the corresponding server to take
adavantage of these programs. A POP2 server (pop2d), and pop3 server
(pop3d) may be obtained from ucdavis.edu, in the directory /dist. More
POP3 servers can be found at lilac.berkeley.edu in popper-1.7.tar.Z,
ics.uci.edu in mh-6.7.tar.Z (directory mh), and for Suns, at
eng.clemson.edu, in pop3d.shar. A pcmail server can be obtained from
allspice.lcs.mit.edu in pub/pcmail-3.2/repository.tar. The file repo-instrs.
lpt has installation instructions.
