I just got a 8-bit Token Ring card for my 386SX. My SX has an Intel chipset with AMI bios. The problem is: I run the diagnostic program that comes with the token ring and it recognizes the Adapter. It fails the diagnostic test with the error message: ERROR--PRIMARY IBM TOKEN-RING NETWORK PC ADAPTER 166E0 This translates to : "Adapter test failure" Also it displays the adapter address and interrupt and also the ROM bios address but the code level says: 0000 0000 ????? Or something like that. When I go and plug into my Compaq Portable I, it gives me a different error. The error message is : ERROR--BLAH BLAH BLAH 166D0 This message is translated in the hardware reference manual as Open phase test failure. But the code level is correctly displayed. If you have any clue as to what's wrong send me e-mail or post on this bboard. Thanks Ed.
