[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] packet driver for Cabletron TP card

was@gdwb.oz.au (Warren Stokes) (10/30/90)

I am running 3C503 cards with external TP tranceivers and
Cabletron TP hubs. My supplier will upgrade the hubs to 10BaseT
anytime I want. I would like to get 10BaseT compliant cards from
now on and possibly even replace my existing 3COM cards.

I believe Cabletron have a 8 bit PC Ethernet card with on-board
unshielded twisted pair (UTP) transceiver (10BaseT). The Part No
I have is E1020 but this is probably just my suppliers code.
I haven't laid eyes on the card so maybe it is just a rebadge.

Is there a packet driver available from Clarkson for this card?
Or can I get it from Cabletron?
My intention is to run PCNFS with PKTD.SYS (which I am doing
now).

Does this card support the Cabletron proprietary TP scheme as
well as 10BaseT? What about running on shielded TP? My vendor
says ok with change of board in hub.

thanks

Yes. Cabletron is an enthusiastic packet driver supplier.
