We have a configuration with a Racal Interlan card and FTP SW packet driver and TCP/IP software and have the following problem: While running Windows 3.0 in 386 enhanced mode, all network utilities stops working. F.ex. Start up a DOS box from Windows 3 and run the PING utility. It will not be able to reach any machines. Other programs written for FTP SW (loaded resident before Windows 3) also stops working (this is a resident Telnet program) after Windows 3 is started in enhanced mode. It works perfectly with Windows 3.0 in real or standard mode, so it seems that the 8086 hardware virtualisation creates the problem. We have tried different DMA channels and other IRQ's, but the problem remains. After tracing it with a debugger, it seems that the DMA transfer fails somehow. We have also tried it with Racal Interlans own TCP/IP, but it has the same problem as well. Any suggestions ?
