Thanks to everybody who responded to my request, I really appreciate all your help. The solution to my problem was I had to use a null- modem cable to connect the two PC's. I had tried it before sending the request and it had not worked at the time (bad connection ???) I also got a later version of the software (v900828) and everything works fine now. Thanks again. marc
