[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] remote PC --> TCP/IP network

I would like to get a remote PC (running MS-DOS or ISC 386
Unix 2.0.2) to be able to dial up to ??? that would then route
the incoming stuff to the TCP/IP backbone. Now the question
is what are the options available for the ??? mentioned above?
Would/could the ??? be a DOS based PC running the ka9q software
and something else that could route the packets thru? If so,
is the routing capablility in the ka9q software? Granted this
may seem trivial to some but I haven't been able to get a clear
answer on the whole process and how it all fits together, so
I would appreciate any hints you can provide (please email).
