[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Clarkson 3C503 Drivers

porter@caip.rutgers.edu (Adam Porter) (12/27/90)

Hi everybody....I ftp'd the Clarkson drivers for my 3c503 board, but
I'm having trouble figuring out how to get them to work. (I have
PC-NFS software from Sun.)

1. Why use these drivers? Are they for people who have network cards
but no software to access them?

2. Are these drivers better than the ones that come with PC-NFS?

3. To use them, do I disable the PC-NFS stuff in my CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT files?

4. Can I still mount subdirectories on my Sun server as logical drives
using these packets?

5. Is there a way to use these or any other packet drivers with MS
Windows 3.0 without Windows failing on all those "drives" between the
real ones and W?

It's probably apparent that I'm pretty confused about the Clarkson
packet drivers. If Russ Nelson or anyone else who knows this software
fairly well is listening, please point me in the right
direction...THANKS!
