Hi folks, I'm looking for a LPD (not lpr|) implementation that runs on a PC under MSDOS. If anybody out there knows of such a program (pd/shareware) please drop me a line - you will save me from a lot of trouble. Thanks very much in advance, Ewald JENISCH University Computer Center University of Vienna, Austria E-mail: Z00EJR01@AWIUNI11.BITNET Snail-mail: Z00EJR01@helios.edvz.univie.ac.at Universitaetsstrasse 7 Tel.: (+43 222) 43-61-11/251 A-1010 Vienna, Austria Fax: (+43 222) 43-61-11/170 Europe

This begins to be a new candidate for the 'frequently asked questions' department :-), so here we go again: A beta test version of a freeware LPD for MSDOS can be found in the ftp-archive at tacky.cs.olemiss.edu in directory pub/lpd. It uses some version of Clarkson or NCSA libraries and workes quite well in some first tests here. Besides the LPD part there is also a FTP and a BOOTP server included, which we also find very useful. And not unimportant: full source available.
