[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Dialup SLIP with PC-NFS

cliff@demon.co.uk (Cliff Stanford) (02/17/91)

Has anyone had PC-NFS's dialup slip working with anything other
than a SUN host. Specifically, I would like to get it working on a 486
box running SCO Unix 3.2.2.
	Regards,
		Cliff.

We are running SLIP on an ANNEX II terminal server @ 9.6
connected to an IBM-PC which is running PC-NFS. Our connection
is "Direct" so we did not have to deal with the "Dial-up"
dialogue. Only one problem so far, other than getting the Annex
configured correctly: NFSCONF removed the gateway options from
the setup-screen -- we simply added the gateway command to
networks.bat.

Quoth perl@PacBell.COM (Richard Perlman) (in <1991Feb18.185013.3410@PacBell.COM>):

... which will have absolutely no effect! If the "/x" (SLIP mode)
switch is set on the PCNFS.SYS line in CONFIG.SYS, we simply
ignore all routing and pump every packet down the line. What's
to route in this situation?
