Does anybody have/know of a bootp server for PC's using the packet driver, how about ping? What would be involved in writing one? I guess the place to start would be the relevent RFC's and the packet driver interface specs. Where can I get the packet driver interface spec? p.s. The CMU bootpd could be ported to any development environment that provided
a 4bsd socket library (all the commercial DOS and OS/2 TCP/IPs do so). I
don't know of anyone who has done so.
how about ping?
PC-IP is the only freeware that I'm sure has a PING. Our commercial PC/TCP
has a PING, too. If a package doesn't reply to PINGs, it is not acceptable
in most of the Internet, so they all do, so far as I know.
Where can I get the packet driver interface spec?
Anonymous FTP to vax.ftp.com, look in pub/packet-d.*. v1.09 is current.
