[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Problems using Interdrive and mounting /

stacy@hpldsla.sid.hp.com (Stacy Martin) (02/28/91)

I recently installed FTP Software's Interdrive Version 1.1
to run nfs onto my PC. The installation was pretty simple,
and I didn't change anything from the defaults.

But whenever I mount '/' to a drive on my PC, and I cd into that
directory I start to notice some funny behavior.

1) If I do a 'dir' of the \ directory once, everything looks fine.
But if I do it again, a couple of seconds later on, my output
is different from the first time.

2) Additionaly, when I try to cd into a subdirectory (say \bin),
I get an error message saying I can't. But if I try it again
immediately after, the cd to \bin works!

3) The final strange symptom I get when I try to 'cd ..' from /bin,
the command completes successfully, but my PC still thinks I'm in
   the \bin subdirectory.

So are these known problems with InterDrive that someone might know
about, or is it just my setup?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Thanks

  Stacy Martin
