[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] lpr for Mac

gfoster@NXT19.DARPA.MIL (Glen Foster) (03/09/91)

Folks,

Does anyone know of a Macintosh Chooser "device driver" that allows
printing to a PostScript printer on a Unix box running lpd. I know
about CAP but that seems like overkill for this application. It would
be helpful if it used MacTCP for most of the protocol stack.

Thanks in advance.

We use CAP, specifically the new ru-cap from rutgers.edu along with
the Unix-Appletalk Bridge (UAB+). If your Mac has an ethernet card, not
only is CAP not overkill, it gives the capability of control access for
a very small overhead.
