[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Emacs on CUTCP 2.2D

engwall@mtha.usc.edu (Ralph Engwall) (03/16/91)

I'm having a minor problem getting CUTCP Telnet on our PCs to work
correctly with the GNU Emacs editor on our Sun. Somebody must have
seen this one before.
While in Emacs Ctrl-@ is used to mark a point in the text. This
worked fine with previous versions of the Clarkson Telnet Package,
but now with CUTCP 2.2D the Ctrl-@ seems to be intercepted by the PC
and we get a funny "cluck" noise from the speaker whenever this key
combo is pressed. This also occurs whenever Ctrl-2 is pressed.
I've tried editing the config.tel file to set keymap=default.tbl
and commenting out the keymap line entirely. All of the other Emacs
commands I've tried so far seem to work fine.
