The issue of multiple TCP/IP stacks and related problems has been brought up quite a bit in this group. Does anyone know of any good books or documentation that would help explain the *details* of TCP/IP stacks. Of course the name "TCP/IP Stack" paints a general picture, but I would like to read about details. What criteria should be used when deciding on a particular network card? For example, if I have a predominant decnet network (ie many VAXs), some PCs with depca cards, macintoshes with decnet and tcp/ip, some unix workstations with tcp/ip and one of the vaxs supporting decnet, and tcp/ip. Now I want to add another pc to the net and would like to encourage tcp/ip instead of decnet. Why would I choose one card ( ie one of the 3com cards ) over another? Thanks for any help, Mike =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = Mike Collins | "Why would I want to change my = = New Mexico State University | mind?
