[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] nameserver lookup programs

jrosen@vms.macc.wisc.edu (Jay Rosenbloom) (04/09/91)

Hello,

I'm looking for information on domain name server query programs like nslookup
and DiG. I'd be grateful if someone could give me some pointers to programs
for the PC that support lookups for all RR types (public domain/shareware
preferred)? I'm aware of "netname" in the PCIP package which does only A
record lookups and an enhanced netname utility in the MD-DOS/IP
package (WiscWare) which can lookup up other types. Any others?

Thanks!
-Jay

The HOST command in DOS PC/TCP can issue any kind of IP-related DNS query,
and since v2.05 supports Hesiod queries as well.
