[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] PCRoute 2.2 source

foxm@horton.colorado.edu (FOX MICHAEL) (04/17/91)

I was one day too late in getting the source from NorthWestern
University. Does anybody know of an archive site that has it?

I don't know what "one day too late" means... I just checked a minute ago
and PCRoute 2.2 is *still* available via anonymous ftp from accuvax.nwu.edu
(129.105.49.1), in the /pub/pcroute directory.

I don't have any official connection with the program, so I can't comment
on it's status, but the source is still there.

Unless I'm special and anonymous ftp is working differently for other's,
the read permission is shut off. When I issue a 'dir' in pub/pcroute I get:

I don't think I'm special since the REAME file contains:

Northwestern University has sold the external distribution rights of
PCRoute and is therefore no longer distributing it.

Sorry, my mistake. I only did a 'ls' when checking if the files were still
there (a shortcut when using a slow modem that obviously was a bad idea in
this case).

I will check with the powers that be and try to find out what is going on.

You don't have to assume that -- the copyright says that it's fine. I'm
sure that NWU is simply no longer interested in distributing the code.
