As many readers of these newsgroups know, a DOS NFS *server* package called 'soss' was recently posted to the net. (This package was done by See-Mong Tan, Harvard Holmes, Craig Eades, and Rich Braun.) 'soss' allows a PC's drive(s) to be NFS- mounted by clients. Although this package works great with my SunOS NFS, allowing me to make my Sun's NFS clients of a DOS machine running 'soss' it's not compatible with ftp Software's "Interdrive" NFS client software. The reason for the incompatibility is Interdrive's user authentication mechanism, which 'soss' doesn't appreciate, or even recognize. I'm wondering whether ftp Software (or any of the other vendors who sell DOS NFS client software) have looked at 'soss' to see if their package will run with it.
