Yesterday we started paperwork. I didn't realize that I hadn't sen
you a copy of the plan. I'll do that soon so you can see what's up.
We started load approval yesterday. We met with a load officeer from
noon to 2:00. Now we have to get pay stubs and transcripts and stuff
together so they can do some checks on us. We have to pay them 45$ to
do the paperwork and make sure we are a safe loan.

At 6:00 we met our builders representative ( a guy named Mark Johnson
who's not very bright to say the least) and the next level up guy
(John G....) at the lot so he could give us an idea how the house
would sit on the lot. It looks like it'll sit nice but they'll have
to think hard to get the drainage and landscaping right. They told
us it'd be an extra 1500$ for the extra earth moving. I told them
I'd like to keep the look natural and have no retaining walls.

We've got the purchase agreement stuff now and if we sign it we'll
return it with 2700$ as earnest money. I somehow don't feel that things
are nailed down tight enough before we sign anything.

I don't know why you copied the pcip list, but since you did....

If your builder wants $1500 extra for drainage earthmoving - pay him.
You don't want a wet basement.
