[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Getting Win/QVT/Net to work.

kc@clark.edu (Kevin Carrigan) (05/07/91)

I am having trouble getting WinQVT/NEt version 1.53 to work.
When the program loads up I get the error message "Packet Driver error 11
SetRcvMode". I am using ftpslink packet driver that came with my Everex
Ethernet card. Should I use a different packet driver? If so which one, and
where should I get it. Thanks for any help recieved.

You're using a pre-9.x packet driver. The current release fixes that
problem. Actually, since you can continue the program and it will
work, it shouldn't be that big a problem...

The first thing to do is get the latest version from cica.cica.indiana in
directory pub/pc/win3/util, file qvtnet16.zip. This fixes a load of problems
that were present in the 1.5 release.

The latest version I have got is 1.63. It's certainly begining to mature now.

QPC if you are listening ... how about mail capability, SMTP, POP or whatever,

I just pulled a newer version from cica's uploads directory, it is release
1.65.

BTW, I've just noticed that the paste function has been slowed down to allow
multi-line pastes. Before this used to confuse some hosts.

Conor.

ICPM:|Redirect, another gateway is more efficient
