[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] Can PCNFS mount a DECstation disk in different domains?

simon@HORIZON.HUJI.AC.IL (Simon Shickman) (05/18/91)

I am using PCNFS 3.0.1 to mount some disk on a DECstation. This works well
when PC is in the same domain name zone as the DECstation. When I try to
use a PC in a different domain name zone the mounting is refused. Analysis
of mount request shows that PCNFS uses just the name of the PC without the
full domain path (e.g. name till the first dot). Does anyone know if PCNFS
can use a domain name path. Please note that I'm not using NIS (YP).
If PCNFS cannot use domain names, is there an easy way to make the DECstation
accept mount requests?

Thank you,
