[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] ka9q on a diskless 286

opschk@GANGES.UCOP.EDU (05/22/91)

I am installing ka9q as a router on a diskless 286 PC with a 1.44 Mb floppy.
My question is what's the minimum DOS subset that I should have in order to
boot and start ka9q. BTW is 1.44 Mb enough space ?

		Many Thanks in Advance

The two hidden files and command.com will do it. In other words, format the
floppy with FORMAT a: /s and, if format doesn't copy it, copy command.com to
it. Besides KA9Q, you'll also need whatever drivers you need for your network
boards, packet drivers, etc. 1.44 should be PLENTY (720 will probably do!).
