I have an existing PC-lan running LANsmart networking software for file and printer sharing. TCP is run as needed (FTP software's PC/TCP) to connect to our local UNIX box as required. We are in the process of getting our LAN connected to our University Ethernet and will be using PCrouter 2.2 to do the IP routing. I know that only TCP/IP packets will be routed by this software but what I have just become concerned about is the likely effect of the SMB packets on the router. (I don't expect nor want SMB routing.) Will SMB confuse the router ? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I only have a working knowledge of network protocols and their interaction. -- Nirad Sharma (exnirad@brolga.cc.uq.oz.au) Phone : (+61 7) 365 7575 Systems Programmer Fax : (+61 7) 870 5080 Continuing Education Unit The University of Queensland.
