We are getting ready to purchase an IBM 3172 ethernet controller for our IBM
3090 running VM/XA. They are getting the right parts on that end (I assume).
I have to assemble the right ends on the LAN side.
Currently I am using:
NCSA Telnet 2.3beta15
AT&T StarGROUP 3.4 LanManager
FTP's NDIS Packet Driver (1.05 - 1.06 (I will get 1.07 later today from
jrd@usu)).
This is working like a charm to our VAXcluster and other boxes on campus.
However the 3090 throws a wrench into the equation. Will NCSA Telnet work with
the IBM mainframe. (If the VM side is important, it is the IBM
implementation). Will I need a TN3270? If so will the Clarkson 2.2 work with
the NDIS drivers? Do the NCSA people plan to release a TN3270? If not does
Clarkson plan to put out a 2.3 with TN3270 and when?
I have lots more questions. Thanks in advance.
Rob
