[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] PCNFS Programmer Toolkit causing runtime errors ?

gaw@aeg.dsto.oz.au (Grant Ward) (05/31/91)

Hi all,

Back in January I was trying to port some code that used TCP sockets to an
IBM PC running PCNFS 3.0.1 with no luck. It seemed that linking with the
PCNFS Programmers Toolkit Library produced runtime errors (stack overflow)
even when I tried a program that made no calls to the library.

I tried using MSC 4 and MSC 5 but both gave runtime errors (different error
numbers I think from memory).

Well worst luck has struck again and there are people enquiring on the status
of this (I had since moved onto more illustrious tasks :-) .

What I was wondering is :
1. Has anyone else had this problem ?
2. Am I doing something wrong ? (OK, I know I haven't given any explicit
details here, what I guess I really mean is there anything special to watch
out for when trying to use the PCNFS Toolkit library)
3. Is there anyone that has successfully written code that used sockets in
PCNFS. I'd like to compare notes so to speak.

Many thanks in advance,
Grant.
