If I remember it correctly, a NCSA Telnet workstation can get dynamic IP number assignment from a TCP/IP Reverse Address Resolution Protocol Server(rarpd). I'm a novice on TCP/IP, but I know that "rarpd" is available on Sun workstation. Is there any similiar PD or commercial program that I can run on our AT&T Unix System V rel. 3.2.2 StarGROUP 3.4 server for the same purpose? If you recall my previous posting on "NCSAT vs. AT&T StarGROUP", you know that I've successfully implemented NCSA Telnet on our StarGROUP 3.4 clients. Now I'm wondering if I can set up the Unix server as a rarpd server to save the trouble of assigning each client an identical IP number and making a database for those IP records. We have a 250+ clients network, if this can be done, I can save a lot of sweat. Any comments will be appreciated. Tony C. Cheng .............. Educ. Tech. Services Indiana University
