We currently have several Appletalk networks connected to our campus Ethernet via the Shiva FastPath 4 boxes. And we are using NCSA Telnet on the Macintosh and it works great. The next step is to use NCSA Telnet on several IBM PCs that are currently in the Appletalk network. I've downloaded NCSA v2.3b15 on the PC and it does not think the the Appletalk 'driver is installed and gives me error code -123, Board initialition failed!' The v2.2 documentation does not cover the configuration for an Appletalk PC card. The card is installed to use the Polled driver, i.e. no interrupts. Does NCSA require the card be installed with one of the Interrupts enabled(this card allows either 2,3,or 4)? The sample CONFIG.TELs that I have seen for PC's with Appletalk cards use INTERRUPT=60 or 92, where is this number derived from? Is the ZONE parameter used as with the Macintosh version? Summary: Do I need to install the AppleTalk card with an Interrupt enabled for NCSA Telnet to work? What should the following parameters be set to? ZONE = ? (USED???) HARDWARE= ATALK INTERRUPT= ? ADDRESS= ? IOADDR= ? ...any others?... Any help would be greatly appreciated. ..............................................................................
