Hello netters, I'm a new sys admin for the Component Lab at GM Tech Center. Here, we got a lot PCs ; however, the bad thing is that they are not in any kind of network environment. Worse yet, my boss wants to save money. I'm looking at PC-NFS but I'm only familiar with NFS on the UNIX environment. I got some novice questions : *. Does PC-NFS work well with Windows 3.0 ? If yes, how well ? *. Most of the PCs are ATs with < 2.0 Meg memory. Is there any problem in performance for PC-NFS ? *. Do I have to have some kinds of daemons running as a server for NFS ? If I use an AT to do such task ( making it to be NFS server other ATs ) and use it for other tasks ( running a DSP program and runnning Windows 3.0 ), would there be any performance problems for this AT server ? Thanks, Peter Nguyen email: panguyen@vela.acs.oakland.edu
