hi, netlanders ! I got the sources from pc-ip and tried to compile them with turbo-c 2.0, impossible :-(. On the other hand i do not want to buy Microsoft C 6.0 only to compile pc-ip. The everywhere avilable binaries I can not use, for i need the arcnet-patches. now the question: did anyone compile pc-ip including the arcnet-stuff ? Can this person e-mail me the binaries ? thanks in advance roger ironduke@fernuni-hagen.de

Hi, NetUsers ! Ok, I have compiled PC-IP and it uses the ArcNet-card correctly. I do not use any packet-driver, for I do not want to get the error-message: "Driiver Type 8 unknown." :-( :-( It runs directly on the hardware. Now I have various problems configuring the program: I have no name-server running on the connected UNIX-server. Switching all the debug-levels on, I can see that 'ping' tries to connect the same machine on which I started ping, the DOS-pc. With 'custom' I set all the server numbers to the UNIX-machine. What did I do wrong ? Is it correct just to set in the 'custom'-menu the ethernet-numbers to the (much shorter) Arcnet-addresses ? Can anybody, who got the package run, give me some tips ? thanks in advance Roger Schwentker, roger@larry.ruhr.de What do you see, when you turn out the light, i can't tell you, but I know it's mine.
