[comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc] PCTCP and Windows

KDICKEY@cmsa.gmr.com (06/20/91)

Hello,

I'm running PC/TCP and Windows 3.0. I have heard that it is possible to run
some terminal emulators such as Kermit on top of the TNGLASS program. Does
anyone know if there are Windows based terminal emulators available that can
be run in this fashion?

Thanks,

I just read an interesting report of a TCP/IP product called Chameleon
from NetManage Inc. Chameleon was written for Windows 3.0. It provides
multiple vt100-compatible telnet sessions, each in its own window. Also
provided are client and server FTP, SMTP, and SLIP. I would be interested
in hearing any experience with this product.

Contact NetManage, Inc., 10020 N. DeAnza Blvd., Cupertino, CA, 95014,

You should also check WinQVT/Net which is from
QPC Software
po box 226
Penfield, NY 14526

It is shareware with a $10 registration fee.
It supports multiple vt200 telnet sessions (windows), ftp sessions, ftp
and rcp server, and a news reader. Works quite well.
Runs on top of packet driver only - which is good because you can
run novell at the same time :-)
