HyperCard seems like it would be just the thing for a geneological database; has anybody put together a stack for this purpose? Where can I find it? * Scott Robert Anderson * ** gatech!emoryu1!phssra * * * ** phssra@emoryu1.{bitnet,csnet} * * * * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I have written a genealogy stack consisting of a one-card unit that can be duplicated each time you want to add another person. My own genealogy records have produced a stack of about 1100 names and I'm not done... Features: subject, parents, siblings, up to 3 spouses and children on each card click on any name to go to that person's card (even calculated names) usually each name only must be typed only once (depends on entry) lists all instances of a name (partial or full) in stack find all direct ancestors and descendents of any person sort stack by first or last names, or parents, simple or complete lock and unlock fields with ease for editing, use I'll post the stack after I spruce it up a bit. -- Nicholas Spies ns@cat.cmu.edu.arpa Center for Design of Educational Computing Carnegie Mellon University -- Nicholas Spies ns@cat.cmu.edu.arpa Center for Design of Educational Computing Carnegie Mellon University
