I'd like to see stackware that converts the CMS session on an IBM mainframe into a Macintosh-like style interface, i.e. where pointing, clicking, dragging, and changes associated with such actions are interpreted by the stack and then passed along to the IBM mainframe to be done. Basically , I'd like to see the way of interacting within CMS during a session handled in a more Macintosh-like way. It seems that my sessions are basically typing, editing, and reading text not graphics, so a drawing-option isn't needed. Actually just being able to select and manipulate text, and click on the pfkey that is normally shown on the screen would be a big plus. As of now RedRyder10.3(nor any terminal emulator/telecommunication package that I know of) doesn't really seem to make my Mac much more than a dumb-terminal when I use it for these mainframe sessions. I guess you could say I'm looking for a Mac-like graphic front-end(disguise) for the mainframe. Well I think I've let you know what I'm mainly interested in seeing. Quite a wish list, eh? :-) --------------------------- ERIC H. ROMO <UD069225@NDSUVM1.BITNET> CHEMISTRY DEPT. UNIV. OF NORTH DAKOTA GRAND FORKS, N.D.

You should look into TinCan from Yale. It was designed to be a terminal program for IBM mainframes. It has many of the features that you wanted. There is also a program (Y-TERM) for the IBM PC.
