[comp.sys.mac.hypercard] changes to hyper-hackers & usenet hypercard digests

chuq@plaid.Sun.COM (Chuq Von Rospach) (02/27/88)

I'm going to be doing a bit of restructuring in the next week. Because of
the generally low volume of incoming messages from hyper-hackers, it doesn't
make sense to defer them until I can package them into a digest. So, to
try to get things moving a little faster, I'm going to change things around.

Starting (probably) monday, anything mailed to the hyper-hackers mailing
list will be posted as an individual message to USENET's
comp.sys.mac.hypercard. This should reduce delay of Arpa messages from up to
a week to about 24 hours. They'll then be posted back to ARPA as part of the
regular digests, which I'm going to try to do twice a week instead of once.
These will be called Hyper-Hackers digest, and the Usenet Hypercard Digest
will go away.

Also, sometime next week all the digests will be made available in my
archive-server. Details will be forthcoming when that happens. I'll also
start making some hypercard stacks available via the server, although I
won't be making it a fully-fledged source archive because I don't have time
to maintain it (hopefully, when comp.binaries.hypercard is created, we'll
be able to put one together).
